Yes I watched the entire movie from start to finish because it was with a friend, she wanted to see it, and we were in the theatres. My personal choice was for There Will Be Blood but it was sold out.
I love the local references. Lived in St Cloud for about ten years. Been to Ridgedale Mall. But, I couldn't really figure out why they did it in the first place, why they didn't get along immediately after, why that one creepy guy wanted to cheat, or why she decided to keep the baby. There was a lot of what without a lot of why.
And they did it because I think they just wanted to know what it felt like. How indie/unique/unheard of and whatnot. That's the kind of lens you have to view their relationship through. Is it indie/unique? Then the answer is yes.
I actually rewatched it recently (only the second half so I mercifully missed the hamburger phone scene), and I liked it a bit more than I did the first time. Though I do think Diabo Cody is completely overrated and my liking it was more in line with Ellen Page just being an overall badass, haha.

Yes it is.
The movie lost me at the Planned Parenthood scene with the goth office assistant.
